Honda’s latest power unit upgrades have begun to ease the vibration issues plaguing Aston Martin. After a disastrous FP1 in Australia, where Fernando Alonso’s car stayed in the garage and Lance Stroll managed only three laps due to PU problems, FP2 saw more consistent running. Honda confirmed their countermeasures, developed on the dyno, are working on track, significantly reducing battery vibrations.

Despite this progress, Aston Martin remains in a precarious position. The team brought four batteries to Albert Park but found communication problems with two, leaving them with just two active units and no spares. This shortage means any further issues could severely compromise their weekend. Team principal Mike Krack admitted the crew is already "tired" and facing tough decisions regarding car setup and configuration before Saturday's sessions. The team needs flawless execution to avoid deeper trouble as the weekend progresses.
