McLaren is setting an ambitious standard with its 2025 sustainability report, unveiling plans for a "Circular F1 Car" roadmap. This initiative aims to drastically reduce environmental impact and waste from a car's design through its eventual reuse. Beyond the track, McLaren developed OSCAR, a semi-autonomous coral-seeding machine, slashing the process from 90 seconds to just 10, boosting annual production from 100,000 to over one million coral cradles.
The report also highlights substantial operational improvements, including nearly a 15% total waste reduction and significant emissions cuts through Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates. Recognized as one of Sustainability Magazine’s top 75 global companies, McLaren also expanded its Driver Development Programme, signing three female drivers, and ensured 44.8% of new hires came from underrepresented groups. This forward-thinking approach positions McLaren as a leader, pushing F1 towards a more sustainable and inclusive future.
