For the American teams, it was a tough Saturday. Haas’s Esteban Ocon ended up 17th, while Cadillac had a disastrous Q1. Sergio Perez finished 20th and Valtteri Bottas 22nd, neither advancing. Both Cadillac drivers faced challenges, with Perez holding up Fernando Alonso and Bottas going off track. The US-backed outfits will need a much stronger race to salvage points in Montreal.
