Alpine is challenging the Monaco Grand Prix results, requesting a review of the pitlane speeding penalties that cost Pierre Gasly a podium finish. Gasly, who crossed the line third, dropped to seventh after incurring two penalties for exceeding the 60km/h limit by just 0.1km/h and 0.4km/h. Many drivers faced similar minor infringements, largely due to cutting the white line in the pitlane's fast lane. This action, potentially exacerbated by the more open layout around the Cadillac pit, shortens the measured distance and artificially inflates recorded speeds from the electronic timing loops.

Alpine contends new car data, accessible only post-race, will demonstrate Gasly’s actual speed was below the limit, thus qualifying as "new evidence" for a review. Gasly expressed deep frustration, calling the decision "unfair" and lamenting the loss of a hard-earned podium. The team aims to prove their case, hoping to overturn the penalties and potentially influence how similar pitlane incidents are judged moving forward.
