Oliver Bearman’s promising Q1 lap for Haas at Imola was deleted because he crossed the finish line 3.3 seconds too late after a red flag. The FIA clarified the red flag for Franco Colapinto’s crash was signaled at 4:32:17.6, while Bearman’s car registered at the line at 4:32:20.9. This cost the young driver a shot at Q2 and left the American team frustrated.

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu remains convinced Bearman's 1'16.077 lap should have stood, stating the team possesses "overwhelming evidence" to back their claim. Bearman himself reported seeing only the session-end lights, not a red flag, as he crossed. The FIA, however, maintains the red flag was showing on the start gantry. The delayed start to Q2 suggested internal debate, but the ruling held. Haas is now pressing for full transparency from the stewards. This ruling, while not impacting the championship directly, is a blow to Haas, who need every opportunity to develop their potential future talent and fight for points.
