Valtteri Bottas has officially begun preparations for his 2026 Formula 1 comeback, joining American entrant Cadillac F1 team for his first seat fitting. This marks a significant step for the burgeoning U.S. constructor, set to be the first all-new team on the grid since Haas over a decade ago. Bottas expressed eagerness to apply his decade of F1 experience and 10 Grand Prix victories, all from his Mercedes tenure, to help build the nascent operation.

"Seeing everything coming together for the first time as a brand-new team is special," he stated, emphasizing the project's momentum. His 2026 teammate, Sergio Perez, has already completed initial testing in a Ferrari-supplied chassis. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon looks forward to Bottas's full involvement as Cadillac prepares for its first official testing alongside rivals at Circuit de Catalunya next January.
