Verstappen claimed his sixth Mexican Grand Prix victory, extending his record at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to more wins than he's scored at any other circuit. "They should actually call it the 'Maxico' Grand Prix," he quipped after the race.
The Red Bull driver became the fourth in F1 history to win six times at the same venue, and the first to do it in Mexico City. His dominance here stretches back to 2017, though he admits he has no clue why this track suits him so well.
The win didn't come easy. A turn-four tangle between Leclerc and Hamilton gifted Verstappen track position early, then he capitalized on Leclerc's five-second penalty at the pit window. Six wins in nine years at one venue? Verstappen's Mexico City streak now stands alone in the sport's modern era.
