Verstappen grabbed pole for Saturday's Singapore sprint, edging Russell by a tenth and change while Leclerc and the McLarens rounded out the top five. The bigger story is further back: Cadillac's first season in F1 continues to spiral. Perez qualified 20th, Bottas 21st — both knocked out in SQ1, more than three seconds off the pace. The American outfit hasn't found its footing, and a street circuit that punishes mistakes isn't doing them any favors.
Haas fared only slightly better. Bearman scraped into SQ2 in 13th, Ocon didn't. Hamilton, now in Ferrari red, lines up sixth behind his former Mercedes teammate. Antonelli, the kid who replaced him, sits seventh.
Verstappen's pace advantage remains real heading into the sprint, but the championship fight tightens if Norris or Piastri can jump him off the line. For Cadillac, the goal is simpler: just finish.
