Antonelli gained one spot at the start but couldn't crack Charles Leclerc despite sustained pressure. The Ferrari driver grabbed second on lap 18 when he finally cleared Lando Norris, who'd been struggling for rear grip. Norris held third over Antonelli by four-tenths, with the tight Dutch circuit making overtaking nearly impossible once track position was set.
Russell crossed 1.4 seconds clear of Leclerc. Max Verstappen managed only sixth in front of his home crowd. Antonelli's fourth keeps him atop the standings, but Mercedes left points on the table heading into Sunday's main event.
