Rafael Camara will race for Haas in 2027 after the American squad signed Ferrari's prized junior to a multi-year deal. The 21-year-old Brazilian blitzed his TPC test at Portimao in August, beating out Leonardo Fornaroli, Ryo Hirakawa, and Jack Doohan for the seat vacated by underperforming Esteban Ocon. Camara enters F1 as Ferrari's most decorated academy graduate, having won back-to-back FREC and F3 titles before leading this year's F2 championship as a rookie. He's shown raw speed—a 2.54 qualifying average—but also costly mistakes in Monaco and Montreal that team principal Ayao Komatsu acknowledged while praising Camara's ability to extract performance under pressure. If Camara clinches the F2 title across the final two rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, he'll become the first driver since Oscar Piastri to win three consecutive junior championships. Ollie Bearman is expected to stay, giving Haas an all-Ferrari-junior lineup and keeping the American team tightly linked to Maranello's development pipeline.
