Charles Leclerc got the same call, stopped, and still carved past his teammate.
The error left Hamilton exposed on old rubber. Lando Norris, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and Oscar Piastri all passed him before the flag. Team principal Frederic Vasseur confirmed both Ferraris were called in and the miss cost Hamilton a guaranteed P2 or P3.
"Sorry boys, I let you down today," Hamilton radioed. "My call, and I lost us valuable points."
Rare mistake from a driver built on cold precision. With Antonelli one race from clinching the title and Ferrari chasing constructor points, unforced errors sting twice.
