HAMILTON GRABS FIRST WIN FOR FERRARI, RUSSELL TAKES SECOND AFTER ANTONELLI RETIRES

Lewis Hamilton grabbed his first Ferrari win, with a perfectly timed Virtual Safety Car sealing the victory. The Briton, on a three-stop strategy, put pressure on pole-sitter George Russell. When Fernando Alonso retired, triggering the VSC, Hamilton dove into the pits, rejoining ahead of Russell with fresher tires. This handed him a dominant 106th career victory.

Russell had controlled the race, even predicting Hamilton's strategy. He complained Mercedes "exposed me" to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who eventually passed him late in the race. However, Antonelli’s charge ended prematurely with an engine retirement just six laps from the flag, promoting Russell back to second. Charles Leclerc also retired, clearing the way for Lando Norris to take third, completing an all-British podium. Max Verstappen finished a lonely fourth.
