Vowles called the situation "painful," noting that the car would be "significantly higher up" the lap time charts if it were at the minimum weight.
While small upgrades are planned for Barcelona this weekend, larger steps will roll out consistently until past the August break. Vowles is confident the weight reduction will deliver "free performance," allowing Williams to fully unlock the FW48's speed. He projects the team will continue climbing the Constructors' Championship standings, where they currently sit P8 with 11 points, once the car is fully optimized.
