Zandvoort exits after 2026. The privately funded promoter passed on a longer deal and a proposed European rotation system, choosing instead to "go out on a high" after back-to-back sellout years. Max Verstappen won the first three editions from 2021 to 2023, but McLaren has owned the last two: Lando Norris in 2024, Oscar Piastri in 2025.
The August 21-23 weekend runs as a sprint, meaning one practice session before the drivers go racing. Verstappen will get one last shot at a home win before the calendar moves on, and the Dutch crowd gets a royal sendoff either way.
