Lando Norris says he's driving better now than during his 2025 title run, fresh off consecutive wins in Hungary and Zandvoort. The reigning champion sits fourth, 83 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli, as McLaren stumbles through the new regulations. But Norris insists his personal performance has leveled up—both in the car and in the engineering debriefs.
"I'm certainly eliminating my weaknesses on track, and I don't have so many," he said. The Zandvoort turnaround proved it. After drifting to third in Saturday's sprint, Norris and his engineers worked late hunting setup gains. Sunday delivered: pole, victory, and a margin that made the sprint look like a different series.
The 2026 regs have produced a trickier car—bigger teammate gaps across the grid confirm it—but Norris says he's reading situations faster and relaying feedback more precisely. Thirteen career wins now, and if McLaren can close the development gap, the best version of Norris might still be ahead.
