Lando Norris revealed McLaren have been fighting a fuel system glitch that's been killing his straight-line speed for the past two weekends. The problem cost him in qualifying — he managed only fifth on the grid at Monza and Baku after locking out pole in Hungary, Zandvoort, and Spain. McLaren believe they've traced the root cause, but Norris won't know if the fix works until he hits the track in Singapore.

The timing couldn't be worse. Norris is chasing Max Verstappen in a championship fight where every tenth counts, and losing two or three grid spots has left points on the table. "It's always tough when you come out of corners better and end up going slower," Norris said. Singapore's tight layout won't reveal the full benefit, but straights return at Suzuka and beyond. If McLaren's diagnosis is right, Norris gets back the weapon he needs for the run-in.
