This left the team starting at a significant disadvantage for the race.
Mekies called it "very frustrating" to leave Mexico with zero points, especially after Tsunoda was then involved in a race-start squeeze, ending his day early. The "domino effect" of the Q2 crash was clear, costing Lawson a potential Q3 spot too. For a team battling in the midfield, these missed opportunities are critical. RB needs to eliminate costly errors if they want to capitalize on strong car performance and consistently convert pace into championship points.
