Red Bull needs the depth after a wave of high-profile departures. Gianpiero Lambiase, Verstappen's race engineer, bolts for McLaren in 2028, and the team's senior ranks have thinned. McCullough brings Williams pedigree from the early 2000s and a Sauber stint before his Force India run, so he's seen the midfield grind and knows how to extract performance when the budget isn't infinite.
The 2027 arrival gives him a year to settle before Lambiase walks out the door and the rebuild gets real.
