Sainz told Spanish media he'll spend the summer break deciding whether to stay, admitting the car isn't performing despite his own adaptation. Williams boss James Vowles has already conceded 2026 is a lost year and is betting everything on 2027.
For Vowles, Perez offers Red Bull championship pedigree, six career wins, and crucially, substantial sponsorship money Williams desperately needs. Perez's Cadillac contract terms remain officially murky despite being labeled multi-year.
