Carlos Sainz will run the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend with compromised components after three trips into Zandvoort's gravel during Friday practice broke parts Williams can't afford to lose. The team is running lean on spares ahead of a major upgrade package planned for Baku, and the aggressive gravel traps did enough damage that Sainz couldn't finish FP1 with his optimal setup. He qualified 18th for Saturday's sprint despite the handicap — a solid result given he had almost no practice running and a car delivering less downforce than the garage wanted. Teammate Alex Albon confirmed the parts crunch, saying the cars haven't been upgraded in months and both drivers are treating what's left "nicely." Sainz is also under investigation for driving unnecessarily slowly in qualifying. Williams is hanging on until Azerbaijan, where the upgrade package will determine whether the team can salvage anything from the second half of the season.
