Red Bull cracked the code. After 14 races of Max Verstappen wrestling a difficult RB22, the team brought a major upgrade package to Baku for Round 15 that transformed their season. The result: back-to-back wins in Malaysia and Singapore, the latter Verstappen's first-ever victory on the Marina Bay street circuit.
"The last few races have been really positive for us," Verstappen said after Sunday's win. "Our car has taken a really nice step forward. It's just been more driveable and more predictable."
That predictability was the missing ingredient. Verstappen had the pace but not the platform—a car that wouldn't bite back mid-corner or punish small inputs. The Baku upgrade delivered both, unlocking the kind of confidence needed to extract those final tenths.
The question now is whether Red Bull can sustain this momentum through the final stretch. Two wins prove the upgrade works. Repeating it at different circuit types will prove it's championship-caliber.
