Nico Hulkenberg's Barcelona Grand Prix retirement was due to one of F1's wildest mechanical failures, costing Audi critical points. During lap 28, while battling Liam Lawson for ninth, Lawson briefly ran a wheel into the gravel exit of Turn 12. This launched debris directly into Hulkenberg's Audi, not only smashing a mirror and piercing the nosecone but incredibly, "pulling the emergency trigger" on the car.
