Verstappen won Saturday's Singapore sprint but spent the cool-down room tearing apart the format he'd just dominated. F1 shouldn't hold sprints on tracks where you can't pass, he said, and the series is doubling down — expanding from six to ten sprint weekends next year, Monaco included.

The Red Bull driver lost pole at the start to Russell, who promptly binned it on lap one. The rest was processional. Verstappen blamed the current hybrid regs: overtake mode barely works here, the batteries don't deliver enough delta on the straights, and even a longer straight or tighter hairpin wouldn't fix it without more speed differential.

Hamilton agreed — if it hadn't rained, this would've been "the most boring race for you to have watched." Leclerc was blunter: "I don't think it makes sense to have any sprint races on city tracks in general."

F1's sprint bet gets bigger next year. The drivers want no part of it.
