Ferrari rolls out its biggest upgrade of 2026 at Austin this weekend, the fourth and final major development push for the SF-26. The package hits floor, sidepods and bodywork, but this isn't a radical redesign — Maranello opted for refinement over revolution. While McLaren and Mercedes chased dramatic sidepod reworks that haven't immediately delivered, Ferrari stuck with optimization, targeting drag reduction on a car still hampered by a down-on-power engine. The team studied Red Bull's clever floor-stay geometry but passed, unwilling to burn resources on a fundamental pivot this late in the season. The real work went into the floor — a comprehensive revision hunting more downforce and a less front-biased balance. After COTA, it's circuit-specific tweaks only. The SF-26 is done. Maranello's already building a substantially different car for 2027.
