Bearman notably called his teammate an "idiot" over team radio after Ocon passed him at the final corner, Anthony Noghes. Ocon, however, had already vented about Bearman spoiling his laps twice earlier in the session.
The rookie, Bearman, led Ocon out of the pits but repeatedly backed out of flying laps due to heavy Monaco traffic. Ocon, closing behind, was forced to slow, accusing Bearman of ruining his quick runs. Despite an engineer suggesting he back off, Ocon aggressively overtook Bearman, sparking the "idiot" comment. This internal friction is a bad look for the American-owned Haas team. Finishing P16 and P17, Bearman barely quicker, this intra-team battle could undermine their slim chances at points in a challenging Monaco weekend.
