WOLFF EXPECTS FERRARI WILL ‘RUN OUT OF COST CAP SOON’ AFTER ‘THROWING THINGS AT THEIR CAR’

Ferrari's aggressive development pace will soon hit F1's budget cap, according to Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff. After a recent Mercedes win, Wolff claimed his team is deliberately holding back on deploying already-developed upgrades to stay within financial limits, balancing present gains against future cost cap compliance.

Ferrari, in contrast, recently introduced a significant SF-26 upgrade at Circuit de Catalunya, which propelled them to a victory over Mercedes. Wolff explicitly stated Ferrari has been "throwing things at their car massively," questioning their ability to sustain this rate without breaching the cap. He suggested Mercedes "simply haven't got the margin financially" to match Ferrari's current spending.
